Elizabeth Barbeau

Elizabeth is a senior consultant in the social service sector. She has a Ph.D. in Education and a passion for sharing her knowledge with her clients. Elizabeth is also a talented professional writer who gets to the heart of an issue and has a wonderful ability to simplify complex ideas and problems into text that is accessible and interesting.

• Researching and developing a process to bring staff and volunteers from multiple disciplines together to help fight child prostitution. Elizabeth’s work got to the essence of this complex issue and resulted in clearly articulated, practical tools to assist local communities

• Assisting large and small agencies in both the public and private sectors to achieve and maintain accreditation with CARF and COA. Elizabeth has a knack for breaking down a large project into manageable tasks, then firmly and steadily guiding teams through the process

• Elizabeth's expertise has been sought on several occasions to help with the development of standards. For example, she acted as a key consultant in the creation of Provincial Standards of Practice for the BC Association of Family Resource Programs

• Research and creation of numerous training manuals, policy documents, briefing papers and reports, RFP responses, academic articles, and newsletters. Elizabeth’s writing has been described as “light and elegant”

• Elizabeth has 25 years experience as an educator and trainer. Currently, Elizabeth is a contracted instructor in the Department of Child and Youth Care Counselling at Douglas College, she also facilitates training for large and small groups in formal and informal settings
