Joan is a senior IT consultant and adult education trainer with over 25 years of experience. Joan learns new technologies, methodologies and processes very quickly. She is enthusiastic, versatile and dedicated to her profession.

Some examples of Joan’s work include:
• Successfully delivered provincial training in the Paris client case management to 190 staff and management at Community Living of BC.
• Developed training materials and interactive activities for Customer Service Representatives in a TeleClaim Centre environment at WorkSafeBC.
• Managed and operated a non-profit organization for three years; documented business processes for production of a quarterly newsletter, analyzed requirements for an informational website, developed and implementation a business continuity plan, decreased operating costs, facilitated learning sessions, and wrote Requests For Proposals (website development and service vendor for fundraising).
• As a training consultant, created and delivered a Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program that was developed and documented in collaboration with the Justice Institute of BC, the Ministry and various US municipalities.
• As a project manager, lead systems designer, systems acceptance tester and training consultant, worked on many projects for Fisheries and Oceans Canada which included replacement of a legacy commercial licensing system with a large windows-based client-server application using Oracle/Designer 2000 tools; process maps using VISIO, developed system interface and training requirements; managed a major Treasury Board initiative to buy back Salmon licenses.
• Was a training consultant, business analyst and adult education facilitator for: BC Hydro, 360networks, BC Tel Mobility, Douglas College, BCIT and the City of Richmond.
