Strategic and Tactical Planning
“A plan is the execution of intention”
All our planning is collaborative. We work with our clients to understand what
they want to achieve, and what supports and hinders them in getting it. Then
together we build and document plans that can be successfully implemented.
Here are some examples of plans we have built:
Three and five year Strategic Plans
For not-for-profit organizations, provincial government departments, wholesale
distributors, insurance companies… The key to success is to help the
stakeholders clearly visualize the desired future, pragmatically plan the tasks
needed to realize it, and identify concrete success metrics.
Systems development and roll-out plans
We have built lots of these - For new e-commerce sites, replacement Client Case
Management systems, financial system upgrades, intranet deployments… We often
use a visual planning process called “walking the wall” where stakeholder
representatives collectively identify and plan tasks, sorting out
misconceptions, providing particular perspectives and building a common
intention to be successful.
Targeted Tactical Plans
We have collaboratively built plans to:
• Communicate progress against a strategic plan
• Translate 600,000 words from English to French
• Win the rights to sell a new product line
• Re-brand a website
• Issue a Request For Proposal for a multi-million dollar project
• Train 1000 staff across BC in the use of new technology
Our plans are always owned by those tasked to implement them. They are
practical, respect capacity and include progress markers.
